Welcome at the website of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics!
I have just recently been appointed Dean of the Faculty, and it is an honour for me to serve my alma mater where I have taught and conducted research on polymer composites for more than 20 years of the recent past. A portion of the heritage of 140 years of our history that binds me to consider future challenges and responsibilities with growing alertness, as the times of science and technology has arrived once again to enhance human life.
„Change as time does. Do as time demands.”, says Confucius. Our timely answer to this is teaching, researching, applying, propagating, and exchanging information, results, and -certainly- glorious and poor consequences.
Our Faculty offers its engineering education excellence rooted in, and being fully aware of its unique position of training decision makers, and technological leaders of tomorrow. Our aim in the course of the training is to qualify our graduates to perform as competent problem solvers, good communicators, excellent team workers, successful project leaders, and -above all- ethical participants of the world around them – both locally and globally.
Grounded in our commitment to engineering education, innovation and research, our students are well-positioned to get a rich educational experience while studying with us in our two-cycle academic structure, at the conclusion of which BSc first, and MSc diploma second can be obtained. The close cooperations we have with several outstanding and prestigious professional partner institutions abroad, provide a variety of international experiences for students, chances for the wealth of joint research, study abroad periods, and internship options.
Our Faculty, so our institution, is open to the world. Ranked 277th in the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities we can say that our Institution is well recognized both home and abroad. For this, appreciation goes to all the faculty members, staff, and students for their hard work and strong commitment.
I invite you to get acquainted with our Faculty and discover mechanical engineering and much more: social, cultural, artistic, and intellectual activity in the local geographical, historical, socio-cultural, and human environment.
